Questions to ask before you hire
A short list of questions that separate a clear specialist from a vague one, without turning the call into an interrogation.
You do not need a binder of interview questions. You need a few that surface how the company actually works.
Scope and price
- What is included, and what would change the number?
- Is this an inspection fee, a repair estimate, or a replacement proposal?
- When is payment due?
People and credentials
- Who is coming to the property?
- What license or insurance applies to this job in this state?
Timeline
- When can you arrive, and how long will you be on site?
- What happens if a part has to be ordered?
If a caller cannot answer those, you are allowed to wait for a better match. Requesting an introduction is free; hiring is not a requirement.
